Since the district is mountainous, it has umpteen number of trekking routes which pass through places with unbelievable captivating scenic beauty.

A range of trekking options is available here. Summer is the season when all trekking routes are open while some are open in winter too. 

There are excellent camping sites also enroute.The Sundarani- Jungal Gali-Jasarkote-Sanasar route in Jangal Gali area lets you choose any of three exciting treks. For more details check the Jangal Gali trek route in trekking brochure available from JKTDC(Free). 

There are Trekking equipment hire shops of tourism Deptt. at Jammu and Kud. They stock imported and local gear. These rae available for fixed prices.

Dessa Anantnag Trekking
It is four days trek, starting from Doda and is about 75 Kms. From Doda to Bhagwah, 25 Kms. journey is covered by Vehicles and from Bhagwah the onfoot journey starts up to Kapran. in Anantnag.

Barath Trekking
It is about four days trek from Doda to Anantnag via Bharath, passes from green lovely valleys

Kishtwar Daksum
Is a four day trek covering 41 kms. Taking off from Kishtwar, it ends at Daksum a beautiful site in the Anantnag district of Kashmir Valley. The trek moves from Kishtwar to Mughal Maidan (8kms), Mughal Maidan to Chhatroo (9Kms) Chahatroo to Sinthan Pass (8 kms) and from Sinthan Pass to Daksum (16 kms).

Kishtwar Padam
Is a seven days trek. Every stretch of it as indicated below is covered in a day. It passes through an altitude of 17,000 feet at Bhuswas Kishtwar-Shasho, Shasho-Atholi, Atholi-Matsal, Mastal-Bhuswas, Bhuswas Ratrat, Ratrat-Ating and Ating-Padam

Warwan Trek
Is a 3 day trek covering 60 kms. Kishtwar to Bhandar Kot (12 kms) then to Patninhal (15 kms), to Sounder (16 kms), to Sirshi (15 kms) and then to Henzil via Ramgal (12 kms).

Synthan Trek
Is a 85 kms. trek which passes through 12,450 feet Kishtwar to Bhadarwah to Dedpath to Mugal-Maidan to Chharoo to Chungam to Synthan

Padder Killer
This 43 Kms trek is from Kishtwar to Dool (4 kms) to Galhar (15 kms) to Shantoo (10 kms) to Atholi-Ishtyari (4 kms) to Dar wass (10 kms) to Killar.

Sarthal Trek
Is a 13 kms. trek which takes off from Kishtwar to Shalimar to Galigarh to Sarthal.
