BJP State Chief Spokesperson & National Executive Member Dr. Jitendra Singh released the names of Kashmir-based activists
Jammu Links News (29.01.2011) : Raising serious doubts about the Central and State government’s sincerity to restore mainstream political activity in Kashmir, BJP State Chief Spokesperson & National Executive Member Dr. Jitendra Singh released the names of Kashmir-based activists who had voluntarily participated in the recently concluded “Rashtriya Ekta Yatra” organised by BJYM and alleged that these young men and women are being subjected to torture and harassment by State and police authorities instead of being rewarded for their initiative to defy the militant dictates and participate in mainstream nationalist activity.
Some of these activists were arrested before or during the yatra and were released on bail but inspite of that they are being regularly summoned to the police stations on the pretext of interrogation and subjected to mental and physical torture.
The issue raises question mark on the intention of the administration, which is on one hand talking of rehabilitating youth, who had crossed over to PoK and stone pelters who indulged in anti-India movement, and on the other hand discouraging the local youth who are voluntarily willing to take part in mainstream pro-India activity in the valley.
