Government has appointed eight advocates as Public Prosecutors and Additional Public Prosecutors for the newly created and existing Courts of District and Sessions Judges and Additional District and Sessions Judges.

Bharat Bhushan Sharma has been appointed as Public Prosecutor, Kathua. Ravi Gupta has been appointed as Additional Public Prosecutor, Kathua. Mohammad Amin Bhat has been appointed as Public Prosecutor, Bandipora. Sofi Ghulam Ahmad Gash has been appointed as Public Prosecutor, Ganderbal. 

Mushtaq Ahmad Gatoo has been appointed as Public Prosecutor, Shopian. Sukhdev Singh has been appointed as Public Prosecutor, Samba. G M Shah has been appointed as Public Prosecutor, Kupwara and Abdul Rashid Thakur has been appointed as Public Prosecutor, Pulwama.

Meanwhile, the Government has accorded sanction to the extension in the term of appointment of 25 Public Prosecutors and Additional Public Prosecutors from June 1, 2008.
