God exists-Documentary evidences-Evidence-4-Madhuraanthakam-near Chennai
by icshyderabad

This is from a place called Madhuraanthakam-near Chennai, temple dedicated to Lord Ram-known as the Ram-who saved the Bund (Eri kaaththa Raaman), recorded evidence available in erstwhile Madras Government documents.

This place had/still has a big lake/pond etc-better said as village irrigation tank (multipurpose). Every year there were breaches, artificially done some neighboring villagers to save their crops, and others were suffering.

The Collector of Chingleput (those days-Englishman-name and the year to be retrieved from the books I have stored), has camped during that year monsoon period to personally see what the problem is.

He visited the local temple out of interest as a tourist. He found carved pillars and such other material required to build a temple, were lying there unused. During enquiry it was known that they were all for the purpose of building a shrine to Sita Devi, and due to paucity of funds the work stopped halfway, and the villagers were saying great things of Rama, the presiding deity in the temple.

The collector said, that now that monsoon is in full swing, and that the village tank is full, if nothing untoward happens-he will see to it the funds are given by the Govt for this purpose. The villagers fervently prayed in the temple, being the question of faith.

Surprisingly nothing happened, and the neighboring villagers came running to this temple next day, and said that when they tried to cut the bund to breach the same, they have found two gentlemen with bows and arrows, guarding the bund and chasing them away with string of arrows. Now needless to say the unfinished temple was built by the collector with Govt. sanctioned funds, and the records and gazette speak of the same
