Pak complicity proved

The killing of Osama bin Laden at Abbottabad in Pakistan is welcome news.

Hopefully this will simmer down the international terror scenario. The fact that Osama was killed in a US-led operation without informing the incumbent Pakistani government spe-aks volumes for the initiative and the daring att-empt by President Obama and the Navy Seals who act-ually conducted the operation.

The complicity of Pakistan intelligence auth-orities in terror has again been proved beyond doubt by many sources. India’s position vis a vis the terror scene related to Pakistan will remain tenuous since the ISI and their other agencies along with the LeT will have more time to involve themselves with Kashmir, ratcheting up the tension between the two countries.

Insult to teachers

Sir, The report, Demand to scrap existing re-employment procedure, May 6 is timely. The insistence on a medical certificate for re-employment of teachers, who have sacrificed their entire career only for the welfare and betterment of the students, is really a great insult and the certificate really serves no purpose but only gives lot of hardship to the noble and holy professionals.

Since the teachers’ services should be taken into account, the government should scrap the existing re-employment procedure and they should be allowed to continue to serve till the end of the academic year i.e. till the following May 31 and the teachers should be honoured by giving priority and higher status among society.

Indecent proposal

This refers to the report that a tech-savvy woman, who was deserted by the husband, managed to trap the man during the course of his frantic efforts to marry a college girl (Rom-eo trapped by wife in call to lover, May 6).

The ingenuity with which the woman investigated her husband’s mobile calls and internet chats to ferret out the truth certainly deserves praise. As the good old saying goes, there’s a woman behind every man’s ‘success’. But he doesn’t realise that there is another woman behind that woman, and she is none other than his own wife!
