Osama’s successor
With Al-Zawahiri inheriting Osama’s rancorous legacy, the war on terror seems far from over. Osama, weakened by infirmity, was barely able to impart the much needed momentum to his terror machine al-Qaeda. Al-Zawahiri may lack Osama’s drive but his followers could soon rally in his support and hold their ground.
While lawmakers in the US have called for a halt to all aid to Pakistan, the US will surely extend its support to Pakistan till al-Qaeda and Taliban are decimated and its forces are extricated from the Afghan quagmire. PM Manmohan Singh who is working extra hard to mend fences with Islamabad should at least stop giving protection and patronage to dreaded terrorists like Afzal Guru and Kasab.

Fantastic job
Well it was really terrific decision by Mr Obama, a dynamic US president, for finishing the world’s biggest terrorist Mr Osama who was a cause for immense loss of property and precious lives in various countries of the world. And its certain that Pakistan also has a share in the terrorism of Osama. It’s really unbelievable that Pakistan could be unaware of Osama’s dwelling in Abbottabad which is 150 km away from Islamabad.
That Osama was living in such a luxurious property in Abottabad was known to Mr John Brennan, US deputy national security advisor for counter terrorism. But Pakistan was unaware of Osama living in their own country.

No one is an angel in this world and US and Russia perhaps committed basketfuls of mistakes. The important question is, however, whether terrorism is an answer to anything. Osama justified his brutality by pointing out US mistakes which deserves no consideration. Anyone even faintly trying to support his actions on this will be making a huge mistake.

A few of the media write ups have in light hearted vein highlighted the similarity of the names — Obama gave orders to eliminate Osama. Similar antiques about destroying evil forces are available in Indian epics too. One can say that Rama killed Ravana and Krishna caused the death of Karna.
